The ID-TS Board is delighted to announce the new calls of the ID-TS funding schemes, the purpose of which is to promote academic activities and events, international co-operation, and networking among PhD students.
The ID-TS Doctoral Training Support Scheme aims to facilitate the funding of academic and training events that are hosted by ID-TS affiliates and open to participation by doctoral students at institutions within the ID-TS network. The ID-TS contribution should not make up more than 50% of the total organizational budget for the event, and the maximum contribution that an institution may receive for an event is €800.
The deadline for applications related to events scheduled for the 2026 calendar year is 23:59 CET on 31 January 2026, and the results of the applications will be announced at the latest on 28 February 2026. Should funds remain from this round, a second call will be made, with a deadline of 31 August 2026 and results being announced by 30 September 2026.
Applications should be submitted by 31 January 2026 by the ID-TS contact person at the relevant institution, using the form at https://forms.gle/CYqSwfg3tcU26H5t7. Regardless of the results of applications one year, it is possible to re-apply the following year, although priority will be given to institutions that are applying for the first time.

The ID-TS Mobility Grant Scheme for PhD students, launched in February 2025, aims to enable students who have begun their doctoral research at an institution in the ID-TS network to spend time researching and networking at another member institution. Financial assistance will be provided to a limited number of doctoral students, and the maximum grant available to any one student is €1000, regardless of the duration of the mobility. The newly-launched ID-TS Mobility Grant Scheme for PhD co-supervisors is intended to promote co-supervision of dissertations, a practice very much aligned with the goals of the ID-TS. The Scheme is open to colleagues at ID-TS-affiliated institutions who are officially serving as co-supervisors of doctoral candidates at other programs within the network. Successful applicants will be able to use their funding to visit the partner institution and participate in on-site activities related to the doctoral project, such as fieldwork, an experiment or the final defense/viva, as well as engaging in other teaching, research and networking activities. A limited number of grants will be available, with the maximum grant awarded to any applicant being €700. For further information, and to apply, visit https://forms.gle/HbRoRk7z1DLCy3L66
When assessing applications to the Mobility Grant Schemes, the Board of Management will prioritise doctoral students and first-time applicants.
For both Mobility Grant Schemes, the deadline for the current round of applications (for activities planned to be undertaken in the 2026 calendar year) is 31 January 2026, and the results of the applications will be announced at the latest on 28 February 2026. Should funds remain from this round, a second call will be made, with a deadline of 31 August 2026 and results being announced by 30 September 2026.
